Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract)

Our client is a leading manufacturer of automated packaging machinery and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer.

The role is a 6 month contract and we are seeking design engineers with machinery design experience.

The Role:

Reporting to the Design Manager you will provide effective design engineering support using Auto CAD & 3D Inventor software.

Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

Liaise with the UK sales team and engineering department, attend client visits & undertake site surveys / measurements in order to qualify leads

• Produce component and assembly drawings using Auto Cad 2D and 3D Inventor software
• Design and develop solutions for product or component modifications.
• Maintain effective drawing control and management procedures
• Liaise with suppliers to approve and order parts and components
• Develop your design engineering skills to allow your progression within the business
• Effective communication of quotations, lead times and co-ordinate each project through all stages.

Candidate:

Ideally you will be a graduate or apprentice trained Design Engineer preferably with at least 5 years previous mechanical design experience.

You will have excellent Auto CAD 2D and 3D Inventor software knowledge you will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ideally you will be educated to HNC/D or higher level in mechanical engineering / design.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 37.5 Hours

Benefits:

Excellent renumeration 75K - 80K negotiable
