Electrical Design Engineer

My client are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Leicester. This role focuses on designing electrical systems for Electric Vehicle (EV) charge point installations. You will play a key role in the delivery of innovative EV charging solutions and work on various projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop electrical systems for EV charge point installations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Create detailed design drawings, schematics, and layout plans using CAD software.
• Perform electrical calculations for load, cable sizing, and earthing to ensure safe and effective designs.
• Engage with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to facilitate connections and approvals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in electrical design, specifically with EV charge point installations.
• Familiarity with electrical standards and regulations, including experience with earthing design.
• Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design.
