Fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Financial Controller to join an exceptional Logistics / Distribution business based in Birmingham.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly cost reviews with key budget holders
- Key variances to budget to be explained and YTD variances to be minimised by working in conjunction with budget holders
- Suggest/propose improvements where cost saving opportunities have been identified
- Understand in detail the costing models used by the 3PLs
- Constructively challenge operational decisions taken by 3PLs
- Ensure 3PLs maintain strong level of service and value (OTIF, cost efficiencies etc.) through own input, analysis and challenge
- Conduct weekly performance reviews
- Monthly bridge of costs - actual vs budget and actual vs forecast for month and YTD as well as MoM with insightful commentary, highlighting any material or key variances and any corrective actions
- Tracking of value-added service (VAS) spend at 3PLs linked to supplier NCRs and communicate to relevant parties for further action, holding them to account
- Review and approve all stock adjustments and write-offs at 3PLs
- Review and approve shortage and damaged stock credits
- Financial modelling scenarios - strategic and operational
- Coordinate, facilitate, prepare, review and submit budgets and forecasts for all W&D spend in line with Group timelines and requirements
Requirements:
- Previous Logistics / Distribution experience
