Summary:

We are recruiting for a Safety Engineer on behalf of an independent Safety and Environmental Consultancy in Bristol.

They work with clients across all sectors and are now looking to further grow the Maritime Safety Team to meet a growing and ever increasing diverse client portfolio.

The Role:

We currently have a variety of positions available within our growing dynamic consultancy teams to support our growing business in Maritime Safety. We are specifically looking for people with a demonstratable background in providing maritime safety support within a consultancy environment who are looking to take on key roles within our consultancy business and develop our services within key customer accounts.

Key attributes:

• Prior experience in a consultancy based / client focused environment

• Experience in UK defence industry.

• Experience of undertaking detailed hazard and risk analysis utilising such techniques as SWIFT, HAZOP, FMECA, FTA, LOPA, etc.

• Detailed working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards including DSA02-DMR and Def Stan 00-056

• Proven track record in managing and delivering large/ complex technical projects and/ or multiple concurrent technical projects

• Experience of working on large and / or complex bids

Desirable:

• Experience as an Independent Safety Auditor.

• Detailed knowledge of some of the standards Def Stan 00-055, Mil Std 882E, IEC 61508.

• Proven track record in developing and maintaining successful client relationships.

• Degree qualified

• Chartered engineer, Member or Fellow of a relevant professional institution

You will have excellent communication skills and a high standard of English and grammar supported with a sound technical engineering background.

You will need to be highly effective in organising your own time and workload, especially when working from home.

Your work can be based at any of our offices, as well as home working. Outside of attendance at internal meetings there will be a requirement for regular attendance at client sites. Work from home may be done on a flexible basis to suit the successful candidate as long as programmes of work are achieved.
