Community Engagement Manager

Your new role - Coordinating with various stakeholders, organising events, and promoting environmental stewardship.
- Create and manage a range of programs aimed at increasing community involvement in park activities and conservation efforts.
- Identify and apply for appropriate grant funding in support of projects connected to landscape and green infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with community groups, schools, environmental organisations, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and support for park initiatives and serve as the primary point of contact for community feedback regarding park use and development.
- Plan and execute community events such as clean-up drives, educational workshops and other events that promote environmental awareness, active lifestyles and recreational activities.
- Serve as the spokes person for the parks department in community meetings and media interactions
- Manage social media presence, outreach campaigns. Draft articles and press releases celebrating and promoting good works.
- Gather community feedback on green spaces, park facilities, services, and recommend improvements based on this input.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with park programs and events.
- Oversee the budget for community engagement activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
What you'll need to succeed - Bachelor's degree or similar qualification in Environmental Science, Public Relations, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in community engagement, event planning, or a similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of environmental policies and a keen interest in sustainable practices.
- Experience using social media for marketing
- Experience developing community engagement activities
- Track record of creating innovative solutions to engage with people, particularly hard to reach community groups
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations to stakeholders
- Experience in prioritising competing demands and workloads.
