Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials for practical Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics).
- Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to in all laboratory environments.
- Support and supervise Science Technicians and work closely with teaching staff to deliver practical demonstrations and experiments.
- Manage the ordering, inventory, and safe storage of chemicals and scientific equipment.
- Provide technical support to staff and students during lessons and assist in the development of new practical experiments.
- Undertake risk assessments and ensure compliance with COSHH and other regulations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician, with a good understanding of laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and best practices within a school environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a team of technicians.
- A passion for Science and an ability to work collaboratively with both staff and students.
- Relevant qualifications in Science or a related field (e.g., A-levels, BTEC, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Experience working as a Senior Technician or in a leadership capacity.
- Knowledge of current exam specifications and practical requirements.
