Contracts Manager / Estimator - Structural and Architectural Steel - Colchester

Location: Office-based with site visits as required in Essex and Cambridgeshire.

Are you a driven Contracts Manager with a knack for estimating?

We're looking for a skilled all-rounder who has experience handing structural and architectural steel projects up to £2m in value.

In this role, you ll manage a range of responsibilities from running on-site teams of up to 14 workers to estimating project costs. We need someone who thrives in a hands-on role and can take the lead on both the financial and operational sides of a project for start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing structural and architectural steel projects up to £2m.
• Managing site teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations with up to 14 workers on-site.
• Producing accurate estimates using estimating software.
• Drafting method statements, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and maintaining health and safety compliance.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in managing contracts within the structural and architectural steel industry.
• Strong background in estimating, with proficiency in using estimating software.
• Solid understanding of health & safety, method statements, and RAMS.
• Leadership skills to manage site teams and work closely with all stakeholders.
• Proactive and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
