Job Requirements/Description

Job Overview:

As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects. This involves analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contracts to assess scope and requirements. You will develop and manage tender documents, budgets, and cost plans while liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing. Additionally, you will perform risk analysis, recommend cost-saving solutions, and track project costs to ensure alignment with budgets. Post-tender negotiations and value engineering support will also be part of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to assess scope and requirements.
  • Develop and manage tender documents, budgets, and cost plans.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
  • Perform risk analysis and recommend cost-saving solutions.
  • Track project costs and ensure they align with budgetary constraints.
  • Assist with post-tender negotiations and value engineering exercises.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a focus on both new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
