St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Sunday Sales Assistant to join our team. This role will be based in our Wellington Store. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £4,067.24 per annum.

This is a part time role working 6.5 hours a week on Sundays. There may occasionally be a need to work additional hours to cover staff leave as required. In spring 2025, subject to approval, there is the possibility this may increase to a two day a week role (working 14 hours across Sunday and one weekday).

What can you expect to be doing? 

Joining the team in Wellington, you will support the shop manager and deputy in the running of the shop.

Your day to day work will involve:

  • Delivering friendly and approachable customer service
  • Sorting and lifting donated goods
  • Merchandising and creating eye-catching shop displays
  • Following till and cash handling procedures 
  • Helping to support and motivate a team of shop volunteers
  • Promoting the services and fundraising activities of St Margaret’s Hospice.

What will you be good at?

Previous experience in a retail environment is desirable but not essential as a full induction and training programme will be provided. However, it will really help if you have:

  • Demonstrable high standards of customer service
  • Good communication skills.

This role is a physically demanding position within a busy retail environment which includes the lifting of donated goods.
