Are you a Calibration Engineer with expertise in optimising the calibration of Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) and hybridised ICE powertrains?
We are looking for a dedicated professional to join an expanding team, with the goal of maximising powertrain efficiency across all operating conditions.
This role entails a blend of planning, executing, and overseeing vehicle tests, along with the meticulous documentation and delivery of calibration solutions.
In this role, you may also be involved with vehicle test development trips, contributing to the broader goals of ensuring our powertrain systems meet all target criteria for performance and efficiency.
Your responsibilities as a Calibration Engineer:
- Strategically plan and carry out engine or vehicle development programmes to enhance powertrain performance.
- Develop calibration datasets according to guidelines, focusing on relevant attributes for optimisation.
- Conduct thorough analysis of test results, drafting recommendations for improvements.
- Validate datasets under all ambient conditions, encompassing both in-facility and in-field testing, culminating in detailed reporting and documentation.
- Engage in effective liaison and reporting across various organisational functions, ensuring cohesive project progression.
Your current experience which will help you as a Calibration Engineer:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with diesel emissions testing and proficient in data analysis.
- A solid understanding of diesel combustion engine principles, exhaust after-treatment hardware, and Diesel Engine Management Systems (EMS) alongside relevant tools and software.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successful project management.
- The ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within teams of varying sizes, including leadership roles.
What will set you apart as a Calibration Engineer:
- A Master's or PhD in a specific area of focus is highly regarded.
- Comprehensive knowledge of diesel ICE On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) after-treatment systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and a good grasp of statistical analysis methods and tools.
- Experience and proficiency in using MATLAB for data analysis and modelling tasks.
