Job Requirements/Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Utility Surveyor to join our client's team. You will be responsible for conducting detailed and accurate site surveys, with a focus on underground and overground utility mapping, using a variety of surveying technologies and methods. You will also lead on-site teams, ensure quality control, and support the training and development of junior surveyors. Responsibilities Perform site utility surveys based on project specifications and work instructions. Carry out detailed investigations, utilising advanced utility survey techniques and completing all associated paperwork in compliance with company standards. Liaise effectively with site surveyors, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Produce comprehensive Utility Survey Reports based on gathered data. Conduct quality control checks on survey data and reports before submission to clients. Mentor and train less experienced surveyors to develop their skills and ensure high-quality project delivery. Collect data to produce accurate mapping of underground and overground utility services. Complete core on-site detection and mapping activities, including but not limited to: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in high and low frequencies. GPR in Mark-out Mode. Electromagnetic Location (EML) methods. Drainage surveys. Lead and coordinate field teams to ensure timely and quality project execution. Oversee the technical aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with standards and quality requirements. Conduct PAS128 surveys in accordance with industry standards. Requirements Full UK driving licence. Right to work in the UK. Experience training and mentoring junior staff members. CSCS qualification is beneficial but not mandatory. NVQ Level 3 or 5 qualification is advantageous. Skills & Attributes Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor, with supervisory experience highly preferred. Proficiency in the use of Electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment. Strong knowledge of interpreting utility provider drawings. Extensive experience in underground utility mapping and post-processing of GPR data. Familiarity with Topographical Surveying equipment is advantageous but not essential. Experience working in varied environments, including complex survey sites. A commitment to delivering high-quality results with attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work away from home when required.
