Position - Maintenance Engineer
Location - Manchester
Salary: 38-40K
Hours - (Apply online only) / (Apply online only) Monday to Friday
Type - 6-month contract

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their small manufacturing plant based in Manchester with an immediate start available.

THE PERSON

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will demonstrate:

• A strong, hands-on engineering background.
• The ability to carry out preventative maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment.
• Possess good diagnostic skills to diagnose the causes and rectification of breakdowns.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be:

• Ideally qualified to HNC or C&G in mechanical engineering
• Good mechanical/maintenance skills; including welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, replacing bearings, transmission systems including pulleys and belts.
• Good computer literacy skills.
• Good communication skills, liaising with client departments.

EXPECTED DUTIES TO BE CARRIED OUT ON SITE:

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be:

• Working within the Engineering Department to carry out regular servicing and maintenance of equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns to evaluate and rectify plant issues.
• Follow predefined procedures to ensure continued safe/efficient operation of all equipment.
• Ensure designated tasks are completed within the scheduled time.
• Assisting with project work such as installation and commissioning of new equipment, plant improvements and upgrades.
• Monitor stock levels and re-order as required.

Other skills would be beneficial but not essential:

• Hydraulic equipment maintenance
• Drives, controls and HMI's
• MIG welding mild/stainless steel
• Tooling maintenance
