As a member of the Pharmacy technician team you will provide safe and effective pharmacy support to the dispensary and adult wards within UHBW. You will develop your existing professional, technical and clinical skills through your own continuing professional development to provide and service of excellence to both patients and staff alike. You will be eligible to enroll on a medicines Optimisation course - which will include 20% of your working week on the wards and 80% in the main Dispensary. The post holder will be required to work shifts including late duties, weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. You may also be required to work at the BEH on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job
- To dispense prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, day patients and patients waiting for discharge.
- To perform duties concerned with the control of pharmaceutical stocks in the dispensary. Ensure that appropriate stock levels are maintained, expired stock is removed and stock problems are resolved quickly and efficiently. Inform the Senior Technician of any unresolved stock issues and when further stocks are needed.
- To act as an Accredited Checking Technician for final accuracy checks of dispensed medication as required to ensure safe and accurate dispensing within the BRI pharmacy dispensary

- The medicines optimisation technician roles exist to provide core patient facing pharmacy services and be fully embedded within the specialist adult pharmacy teams.

Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Weekends and Bank Holidays, Late Shifts)
