Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role, Tier 1 Main construction Contractor, Permanent Opportunity

A National Tier 1 Main Contractor with a regional Head Office in Leeds covering West & North Yorkshire has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team focussing on a specific multi-million pound construction project in North Yorkshire.
Your new role

Assist the senior commercial staff in all aspects of quantity surveying, whilst ensuring that all relevant company group & sector specific procedures and policies are met, in accordance with the integrated business management system.

Valuations- maximise income / profitability on any given project, ensure applications for payment (Contract Valuations) are submitted promptly and accurately together with the forecast final account sum, evaluation of additional works, compilation of contract final accounts.

Sub-contractors - compile robust enquiries, analyse quotations / tenders. Attend pre-let meetings with sub-contractors, draft orders (terms and conditions) Inform the site team of sub-contract attendances. Management of sub-contract accounts through to completion

Forecast - Assist the project manager / site agent with cost control and forecast of site expenditure to completion. Check site costs and highlight errors / anomalies, sub-contract liabilities and forecast final accounts.

Maintaining the commercial files for each project, carrying out reconciliations of plant, labour, and materials, assisting with the submission of site weekly returns

What you'll need to succeed

Holds the relevant qualifications (e.g., Degree in Quantity Surveying) or currently studying towards.

You have experience within the construction industry.
