About the Role

This role plays a crucial part in advancing our mission to put students at the center of all we do. Reporting into the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Event Officer will focus on celebrating the achievements of our remarkable students and staff, showcasing their successes both internally and externally. A key objective for this role is to help the college achieve recruitment and growth targets, particularly by attracting students to programs aligned with the region’s priority sectors.

Maintaining a "students first" ethos is fundamental to this position, ensuring that students' needs remain at the heart of every decision and action. As a part of the wider college team, the Event Officer will support excellent teaching, learning, and innovation efforts across the institution. Moreover, the role involves championing the college's commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, ensuring these values are woven into every event and initiative the role supports.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead and co-ordinate the events function and lead on the requirements for each project to include where necessary, stand design, build, set-up, attendee management, production of marketing materials, display and AV requirements, advertising and promotion, sourcing of guest speakers, transport, catering, event hosting and overall event budget management
  • To lead on core college events including the event management, promotion and set-up of events such as open days, award celebrations, employer events and staff conferences
  • To liaise with senior staff and curriculum areas to ensure their events requirements are met
  • To assist and provide event support in collaboration with external partners for on campus and off campus events on external promotions and joint sponsorships that are undertaken with third parties
  • To take a marketing lead on celebrating and promoting key dates, religious festivals and awareness days from the college’s EDI calendar through internal communications, social media coverage and cross-college events
