Job Requirements/Description

We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred.

As a Community Partnerships Producer for Children and Young People, you will play a crucial role in developing inclusive, accessible, and sustainable programmes for children, families and young people who live locally to our palaces and may experience barriers to accessing our sites and content. You will create memory-making experiences that surprise and delight and enable children, families and young people to learn about, discover, explore, share and enjoy the stories of our palaces and gardens. In this role, you will enhance and expand our existing programmes and activities, focussing on delivery at the Tower of London and supporting colleagues in the development and delivery of similar activities are our other HRP sites.

Collaboration is key. You will work with the Community Partnerships Manager and fellow Producers to co-create meaningful projects, ensuring that community voices, needs, and interests are reflected. Through your efforts, you will advance Historic Royal Palaces' commitment to diversity, accessibility, equity, and inclusion.

Your work will break down barriers to accessing our palaces, positioning Historic Royal Palaces as a leader in community engagement and participation, and reinforcing our ambition to be a charity for everyone.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have proven experience in developing and delivering early years, family and/or young people engagement programmes and co-creative projects in heritage or similar settings, with knowledge of inclusive creative practices in the arts, heritage, and community sectors.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong organisational, project, people, and budget management skills, capable of handling multiple projects on and offsite.
  • Possess excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills, working confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, children and young people, community groups, local authorities, funders, and cultural organisations.
  • Understand and be an advocate for the value of community participation within cultural and heritage contexts.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office and digital platforms.
  • Stay calm under pressure, effectively managing competing priorities in a busy programme, and be flexible with ability to travel and support delivery of our programmes at other HRP sites and offsite.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekends.
  • An enhanced DBS check is a requirement of this role.

Benefits include:

  • Hybrid working
  • Enhanced holiday entitlement
  • Generous Employers Pension Contributions (up to 11%)
  • Annual Pay reviews & Bonuses
  • Critical Illness Cover & Life Assurance
  • Family friendly policies and benefits
  • Staff discounts and membership to all palaces
