What you'll be doing;
- Listing and identifying all waste types by type and hazard correctly.
- Collect hazardous waste from customer sites, ensuring that it is packaged, labelled and segregated suitably for transportation and is compliant with all relevant regulations and Company policies .The types of waste that will be handled can vary from highly complex laboratory smalls, to generic garage & engineering wastes.
- Checking that all environmental legislation and internal paperwork is correct
- Ensuring that collections are efficiently managed to maximise customer service.
- Ensuring that all vehicles are compliant with legal requirements, including Operator licence requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that an efficient service is provided to all customers, in line with Company, legislative and contractual requirements. Customers will range from very small, e.g. a resident to large multinational organisations and the relationship will be through the delivery of service.
- Ensure operations are done in a safe manner to prevent health and safety risks to themselves, team members and customers. At times, this role may be lone working on a customer's site and therefore adherence to Veolia's as well as the customer site rules is required.
- Ensure that operations are in line with all legal requirements, including transportation legislation and customer processes when collecting waste.
What we're looking for;
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry
- Valid UK driving licence, class B (manual) minimum
- Knowledge of the waste industry/dangerous goods
- Knowledge of environmental legislation
- Good communications skills as the role is customer facing
Desirable
- ADR Licence
- Class C1 or higher driving Licence
- Drivers CPC
- First Aid Qualification
