Job Requirements/Description

Sheffield United Football Club are looking for an Electrician that will take the lead on all electrical installation and maintenance work required at the Club, working in compliance with all relevant regulations and Health and Safety standards. The Maintenance Electrician will install and carry out inspection, testing, repairs, and installation works of electrical installations across Sheffield United FC site.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To install and carry out inspection, testing, repairs, and installation works of electrical installations to current regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with EE regulations at all times.
  • To correctly fill out electrical installation certification and forms as required in relation to the work undertaken on site.
  • To oversee contractor's installations, inspection, and inclusion of new installs.
  • Maintain relevant electrical supplies and specify and order specialist materials where required.
  • To ensure that requisitions are raised for any orders placed for electrical works at the Club, ensuring invoices are directed to the finance team.
  • Participate in building refurbishment projects, taking leadership for all electrical installations and maintenance.
  • To demonstrate leadership skills, supervising the electrical function at the Club, and communicating projects of work being undertaken to the wider facilities team.
  • To possess practical, productive, and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge, working on their own proficiently and carrying out electrical installation work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.
  • To set out jobs from drawings and specifications; and accept responsibility for the proper completion of jobs, supervising other operatives where required.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, current IEE Regulations for Electrical Installations, the Electricity Supply Regulations 1988, issued by the Electricity Commissioners so far as they deal with Consumers' Installations (i.e. Regulations 22-29 inclusive and 31), any regulations regarding Consumers' Installations, the relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice, and the Construction Industry Safety Regulations.
  • To work in accordance with Health and Safety requirements at all times, working to Sheffield United Football Club's relevant policies and procedures.
  • To be available for all match fixtures to complete any electrical works required.
  • To remain up to date with industry regulations, attending training sessions and CPD events where regulations may come to be updated.

Essential Criteria for the Role:

  • City and Guilds 2368 Electrical Installation Level 3
  • NVQ Electrical Installation Level 3
  • City and Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition - Wiring Regulations BS7671:18
  • ECS Health and Safety Test
  • AM1 (Achievement Measurement 1)
  • AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2)
  • Practical training in electrical installation work
  • Strong communicative skills, with the ability to liaise with the wider maintenance team

Desirable Criteria for the Role:

  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection, Testing and Certification Level 3 (or equivalent, e.g. 2394 and 2395)
  • Prior experience carrying out electrical maintenance works within a stadium environment
  • Prior supervisory experience would be advantageous for the role
