Senior Quantity Surveyor for Tier 1 Main contractor working on education projects from 30- 50m

About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your role as Senior Quantity Surveyor will be to work as the lead commercial on new build projects including education, health care and leisure. You will be working as the no 1 on site and responsible for the commercial success of the projects managing the procurement to final accounting. You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Issue sub-contract tender packages and undertake contractual evaluation of the tender.
• Managing the initial contract negotiation to ensure commercial success
• Manage established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
• Assess contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans.
• Attend internal and external commercial review meetings.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

The company are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience working on new build construction projects and who has knowledge managing packages ideally with both JCT and NEC contract experience. You will be responsible for packages from pre construction stages. The ideal candidate is someone who is a motivated and keen to join a business with excellent training and progression on offer.

• Degree in a construction related subject
• Team Management
• JCT D&B contract knowledge
• Strong commercial acumen

About the Company:

This Main Contractor is a well known Tier 1 who have an excellent reputation across the country with clients and staff. In this role you will be based between office and site with an initial project in Chelmsford. The company and in a secure financial position, and have recently secured a flurry of new projects and have a lot in tender with pipeline increasing for 2025. Long term you will be working on projects across the Essex so willing to travel to sites.
