Job Overview: LEGGWORK is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a large-scale earthworks project in Bristol with an ASAP start. The Site Manager will be responsible for the daily management and coordination of all site activities, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly within earthworks.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Management: Lead and manage the earthworks project from inception to completion, ensuring that all site operations are executed effectively.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and uphold all health and safety standards, ensuring strict adherence to CDM regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Team Supervision: Oversee and direct site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor the progress of work and make adjustments as needed to ensure timely completion, reporting project milestones to senior management.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets the project s quality standards, specifications, and environmental requirements.
- Resource Management: Coordinate and manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for client representatives, engineers, and other stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships and clear communication.
- Environmental Compliance: Implement and monitor environmental protection measures in line with project specifications and local regulatory standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to manage and minimize project impact.
Qualifications and Experience: - Educational Background: Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a Site Manager or supervisory role, ideally within earthworks, groundworks, or infrastructure projects.
- Certifications: CSCS Card, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work certification.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of earthworks processes, excavation, and soil management, with familiarity in using relevant software tools for project tracking and documentation.
- Health & Safety Expertise: In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing teams, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to assess situations, identify issues, and implement effective solutions quickly.
Pay rate: £275 per day CIS
