Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

The Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCo to support students across various subjects and with differing needs. This role is particularly suited to graduates in Psychology or Education Studies who are eager to apply their knowledge and skills in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing targeted one-to-one and small group support to students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
- Assisting with classroom management and helping students engage with learning activities.
- Supporting students' emotional, social, and academic development through tailored interventions.
- Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver differentiated learning strategies.
- Observing and reporting on student progress, liaising with teachers, SENCo, and parents as necessary.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or Education Studies is essential.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- A good understanding of how to support students with SEN or additional learning needs.
- Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
- An interest in pursuing a career in teaching or educational psychology is a plus.
