We are recruiting for three Learning Assistants. Our Learning Assistants are an important part of our High Needs and Learning Department, providing non-teaching support to students with disabilities, learning difficulties, medical needs and mental health issues to help them succeed in their course. This includes support in the classroom but also on visits and residentials.
The Learning Assistant role offers a fantastic entry into a career in Education.
We have the below contracts available:
- 7 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Permanent) - £3,721 per year including holiday uplift
- 18.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Fixed-Term until End of June 2025) - £9,836 per year including holiday uplift
- 22.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (Fixed-Term until End of June 2025) - £11,963 per year including holiday uplift
Responsibilities include:
- Providing non-teaching support for students with special educational needs.
- Following professional guidance provided through EHC Plans and Learning Support Agreements.
- Providing verbal and written feedback on learner progress and accessibility issues to teaching staff.
- Assisting in the preparation of teaching aids and materials.

Education & Training
- GCSE 5 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
- GCSE 5 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
- Level 2 Safeguarding is desirable but not essential Experience
- Experience of supporting people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties (this can include voluntary work and/or student placements)
- Experience of working in an education setting is desirable but not essential
