About the roles
- We have two Senior Procurement Officer Roles available, with Gloucestershire County Councils Strategic Procurement Department. Responsible for running tenders for goods and services, ensuring compliance with council and legislative requirements. Provide guidance and support on a wide range of procurement and contract issues. Your knowledge, communication, and influence skills, will be respected by managers across the organisation at all levels.
- You will produce analysis and strategies that enable the very best services and goods to be purchased with value for money and consideration of social value and climate change. You will see your work making a difference for people in Gloucestershire.
About you
- As a Senior Procurement Officer, your strong communication and negotiating skills will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing relationships. Highly organised and analytical, with excellent IT skills, you’ll be ready to meet demanding targets, timescales and budgets.
- As a senior member of our team, you could be someone with procurement or commissioning skills and experience. Contract management or maybe even a legal background, within local government or the public sector. You may have a category specialism already, but these roles will give you opportunity to further develop this and broaden your skill set into other category areas.
- You will ideally have knowledge of public sector procurement policies, procedures, and systems as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
