WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Global IT Senior Project Manager - Meetings & Events (AV/IT) plays a key role in supporting in-person and hybrid meetings in all aspects of AV and IT technology needs. In this role, you will partner closely with meeting owners to advise and coordinate their hybrid and in-person meeting setups and support the event execution to enable a flawless user and presenter experience. For hybrid and in-person meetings, AV and IT are a critical part of the participants' experience - you are partnering closely with the meeting owner to understand AV/IT needs on-site, collaborate with venues and source hardware and AV support from well-established AV partners and support the event execution as key IT partner on site.

As an experienced people manager, you will take an active team management role for a team of established technical meeting experts, continuing to support individual development and progression, develop BCG's AV/IT meeting support processes, professionalism and technologies.

The Meetings & Events Technical Services (METS) team is the technical partner to support any internal and external BCG-hosted meetings and events. METS is an established team of global technical professionals with a wide network of AV, meetings services (network, print etc.), hybrid and virtual meetings solutions.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • Leading a team to deliver BCG's global meetings & event AV/IT support, applying a growth mindset in people management and active personal development in a remote managerial setting with direct reports across multiple timezones and multiple cultures.
  • Build trusted relationships across IT and multiple business functions, partnering effectively with diverse internal stakeholders and senior meeting and event owners focused on high-profile meetings and events
  • Proven track record of delivering events from a technology perspective and advancing the technical event planning and execution in strong partnership with 3rd-party vendors
  • Take a pro-active approach to understanding technical meetings and events execution, applying complex technology solutions and partner effectively with hotels/venues and external AV partners
  • Driving the establishment and continuous improvement of internal best-practices and work-processes within your team and across associated IT- and functional teams
  • Demonstrating responsiveness, initiative and a strong service orientation towards meeting owners and business needs
  • Problem solving utilizing strong analytical skills with the ability to take initiative, partner effectively with an agile-led IT organization and find forward-looking, scalable solutions
  • Work in a fast-paced, highly flexible and demanding environment, while maintaining focus to an on-time and high-quality delivery for platforms, solutions and live meeting support
  • Significant (international) travel up to 50% consistently will be required. Depending on events, travel may start/end on weekend days.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Business or IT
  • 8-10 years of experience in multi-national IT organizations in a professional services organization
  • Proven track record in people management with experience managing teams across multiple time zones and in remote settings.
  • A proven track record of strong project management and vendor management, specifically in meetings & events technologies and/or IT
  • Experience in driving change across a portfolio of projects (change & run), proactively identifying and meeting future business needs
  • Strong understanding of the latest technical environment and market landscape of solutions targeted at in-person, virtual and hybrid meeting formats
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, driving prioritization across multiple demands and engaging a team of experts to meet upcoming demands, while extending skills and knowledge to fast-paced meeting space
  • Passion about creating a culture of development, continuous improvement and process innovation within the team.
YOU'LL WORK WITH

Multiple areas across BCG including but not limited to:
  • Meeting and Events Function
  • Internal Meeting owners across functions (including Marketing, Learning & Development, Recruiting, DE&I), focused on senior stakeholders and high-profile meetings and events
  • Wider IT in particular Local IT, Security and Infrastructure teams as well as partnering with multiple agile teams to identify and further develop tools & products deployed at hybrid and in-person meetings & events
