Job Requirements/Description

Due to continued growth and a strong order book, we are looking to recruit for an Assembly and Test Manager to join a leading manufacturer based near Keighley.

The successful candidates will be required manage the day to day work load of the assembly and test department to ensure output is maintained. Candidates will also be hands on in the role and will be involved in assembly and test of mechanical products. Due to the nature of the work candidates must be confident in reading engineering drawings.

Testing of products is up to 26 bar therefore experience in testing to this level is also advantageous.

Interested candidates will ideally be Time Served with demonstrable experience working within a manufacturing/assembly based environment. Experience in assembly of Pumps/ Valves /Gearboxes is ideal.

Hours - Monday - Friday 7AM-4PM OR 8AM 5PM

These roles are available for an immediate start!

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a British citizen and be able to obtain security clearance.

The Role

  • Manage the workload and staffing requirements to ensure maximum efficiency within the department.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products to inspection and dispatch functions.
  • Assemble products according to drawings
  • Operate test rigs to test valves in accordance with to requirements on work orders, completing documentation relating to tests and entering information onto the computer systems
  • Enhance and improve upon existing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards across the business.
  • Carrying out testing of products to specified product methods and in line with standards and procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring that all tools/machines used are fit for purpose and reporting any problems to Supervision immediately.
  • Recommending and carrying out any improvements in line with the company s continuous improvement program.
  • Working at all time within Health and Safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Keeping accurate and up to date production records.

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Time served within an mechanical engineering capacity
  • Strong Man Management skills ability to effectively manage a team of 6 staff
  • Attention to detail and pride in quality of work
  • Demonstrable experience in assembly of mechanical products - Valve /Pump/Gearboxes
