Hills Quarry Products have an opportunity available for a LGV Driver (Class 1) to join our team based at our Quarry in Shorncote.
About the role:
As our LGV Driver, reporting to the Transport Manager, you will drive articulated vehicles (as well as 4 and 8 wheeled rigid vehicles as required) moving aggregates and soil/site clearance materials.
Your key responsibilities as our LGV Driver will include:
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and driving safely with due regard for other road users, complying with Road Traffic legislation and regulations.
- Make out, issue and record transaction documents as instructed.
- Achieve agreed daily work targets.
- If you are looking for a driving role where you are not away from home multiple nights a week and travelling long distances, then this could be the role for you. Our drivers are home every evening, with no long-distance travel involved and we have regular fixed outlets that you’ll travel to/from as part of your day-to-day.
- Joining our close-knit friendly team of drivers, you’ll work a regular Monday to Friday work week on a day shift, with Saturday overtime available which can be done by request, and our trucks are in excellent condition and well maintained.
What we’re looking for in our LGV Driver:
Essential
- Class 1 vehicle licence, CPC and tachograph card.
- Conscientious & a team player.
- Physically fit to carry out manual handling activities.
Desirable
- Previous experience transporting aggregates/soils.
- MPQC Site Safety Awareness
- VRU accreditation
