Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Bristol Cathedral is seeking a forward-looking finance leader to take on the role of Chief Finance Officer. The role will encompass strategic, governance and operational responsibilities. You will work with the Cathedral Chapter (the trustees) and COO to ensure we have a sustainable financial strategy and that the governance of the Cathedral is robust. You will work with the Assistant Finance Manager and other administration staff to ensure that the Cathedral finances are effectively managed and necessary controls are in place.

We have a recent history of very effective financial management, but along with most Cathedrals we face challenges to build a financially sustainable organisation. The good news is that we have many of the things in place to achieve this - with recent work to the building to improve the visitor experience (including a major upgrade to our café), an entry by donation scheme and a busy events calendar. As CFO you will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation - enabling it to undertake its mission and ministry as a Cathedral in the City and Diocese.
