Our client is a leading provider of fire safety solutions, specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm and detection systems. We serve a broad range of clients in commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. As our company grows, they are looking for a skilled Fire Small Works Engineer to join their team, covering projects in Kent and London.
The Role:
As a Fire Small Works Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarm systems on small to medium-scale projects. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on variety and is looking to work across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality fire protection solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing and commissioning fire alarm systems, including small works and system upgrades
- Servicing and maintaining fire alarm and detection systems
- Conducting fault finding, repairs, and system modifications
- Liaising with clients to provide exceptional service and ensure system compliance
- Ensuring all work adheres to industry standards and regulations (e.g., BS5839)
- Completing required documentation, including reports and certification
- Working independently and as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to specification
- Attending emergency call-outs as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the installation, servicing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and standards (e.g., BS5839, BAFE)
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites in Kent and London
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Relevant certifications (FIA, BAFE, or similar) are desirable
