Introduction

Our client provides services that enable those with a range of disabilities, their families and carers to lead fulfilling lives. As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to directly influence the growth and effectiveness of their services.

They are actively seeking passionate and dedicated individuals with health and social care sector experience to join their Board. Your knowledge in health and social care will be invaluable in enhancing their impact as an organisation. Responsibilities

As a Trustee with a background in health and social care, your main duties will include:

- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Charity's objectives and governing documents.
- Periodically reviewing these objectives to reflect the evolving needs of society, while staying true to the Charity's mission.
- Approving policies, plans, and budgets that align with our client's objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
- Upholding a collective and individual duty to act in the best interests of the Charity and its beneficiaries at all times.
- Maintaining the Board's independence and managing conflicts of interest effectively.

Knowledge and Understanding

As a Trustee, your health and social care expertise will be complemented by the following:

- A strong understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of Trusteeship.
- Professional and personal integrity, with sound independent judgment.
- The ability to think creatively.
- Confidence in voicing your opinions and perspectives.

Time Commitment

Trustee Board meetings are held quarterly, with additional sessions for in-depth reviews typically on an annual basis. Meetings usually occur in the evenings, and our client encourages in-person attendance, though online participation is available.

Qualities Our Client Seeks

Our client is specifically looking for Trustees who bring the following to their Board:

- A qualification in Social Work or Health Care.
- A strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the health and social care sector.
- A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and the benefits of a diverse Board.
