Senior Mechanical Design Engineer sought Cornwall. Build Maintain Recruit (BMR) are actively seeking Mechanical Design Engineers across the region, supporting a progressive and dynamic MEP Consultancy as they expand further.

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic team in Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of cutting-edge projects, leading the design and development of mechanical services (HVAC building services engineering) systems on varied schemes within the Southwest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design process, from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical services and systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in mechanical design (HVAC / building services engineering services), ideally in a senior or lead capacity
• Strong knowledge of building services engineering systems, components, and design software
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results within deadlines
• Excellent communication and team-working skills
• Degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or a related field
• Ideally, MCIBSE or similar although that is a desirable
