Senior Mechanical Engineer - Plymouth / Exeter

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer sought, Plymouth (hybrid, 2 days a week in the office). Build Maintain Recruit are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a progressing MEP Consultancy based in Plymouth. You will be joining an award winning multi-disciplinary Consultancy with an appetite for onward growth.

The Role:

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of mechanical HVAC systems for a wide range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential builds
• Produce detailed mechanical designs, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard software
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations, standards, and safety guidelines
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and contractors to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior team members

What We re Looking For:

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering (although, if you have less please do apply as we have multiple requirements)
• Proven experience working on mechanical building services (HVAC services)
• Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineer or related discipline, with Chartered status (or working towards it) being a strong advantage
