Job Requirements/Description

We are a football club with a desire to be the best and are always looking for talented people to join our Everton Family.

Everton is a workplace people crave to join, where extraordinary talented people belong, thrive and deliver the remarkable.

Who are we:

Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation and professionalism during the course of a glittering history that spans three centuries.

One of the 12 founder members of the Football League, Everton has played more games in English football's top flight than any other club.

While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium currently being constructed on the banks of the iconic River Mersey.

In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our men’s, women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and compete at the highest level of the game

Our values underpin how we behave, how we represent our club in our city and across the world of football, and how we look after one another and our community. They provide a framework for how we work and engage with partners, suppliers and, most importantly, our fans.

About the opportunity:

For decades, our Club has been one of the most respected and renowned in football. Its vision to develop young players who are technically and tactically capable of playing for Everton’s Men’s First Team, or having a career in the professional game, remains as focused as ever.

We are seeking a passionate individual with experience in talent identification to observe and report on assigned academy fixtures (U9-U12). The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of academy football and be highly motivated to support the recruitment strategy by identifying high-potential young players.

Other key responsibilities as part of this role include:

  • Attend Academy Fixtures: Attend assigned academy fixtures for players aged U9-U12
  • Player Reports: Produce detailed and insightful reports on players observed at these academy fixtures
  • Player Identification: Understand the Everton academy player profiles and identify key traits in players that meet academy standards

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has an excellent track record in a similar role and a good understanding of scouting protocols and best practice.

  • Experienced in Football: You have hands-on experience within first team, academy or grassroots football, as a player, coach or scout
  • Strong Communicator: You effectively engage with a range of stakeholders, from young players and their families to club officials and regional football associations
  • Organised & Proactive: You can manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Passionate About Football: You are committed to football development and eager to help create pathways for young talent

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a football or community development role
  • A valid driver’s license and access to transportation, as the role involves travel within and possibly outside South Liverpool
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

If you feel you have the expertise we are looking for and would thrive off becoming an integral part of our Academy, then we would love to hear from you!
