Transformer Fitter

GBE UK are a transformer manufacturer working with our Italian manufacturing facility. We manufacture liquid filled and cast resin distribution and power transformers as well as reactors, ranging from 50KVA to 50MVA.

Due to an ever-increasing demand, we are looking for a transformer fitter to join the team at our Leeds facility.

The role: -

• Fitting HV Switchgear to distribution transformers.
• Filling LV cabinets to distribution transformers.
• Adding protection devices to distribution transformers, (OTI’s, WTI’s etc).
• Wiring of protection devices to marshalling boxes. (Training provided where necessary).
• Testing – experience advantageous, but not essential if willing to learn.
• Cooling medium changes both in the workshop and onsite.
• Stock handling. (Overhead crane and counterbalance forklift).
• Unloading/ loading of transformers and associated equipment.
• Assist with the management of stock levels for consumable items.
• Completing documentation.
• Predominately workshop based.
• Sitework is also involved, this is an area we expect to grow.
• Must be able to communicate/ interact with clients on side.

The candidate: -

• Ideally an apprentice trained transformer fitter.
• Willing to continually improve their skills through ongoing training.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Able to work alone as well as with others.
• Able to take, follow and give instruction when applicable.
• Clean driving license, suitable for large van.
