Seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Milton Keynes, working on a major civils project in the rail sector. The position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a contract duration of 12 months

About the role of Quantity Surveyor
As a key member of our project team, you will be involved in the financial and contractual management of a large-scale civil engineering project in the rail sector. You will ensure that project costs are managed effectively while adhering to the timeline and quality standards. The project is valued at 180m, and you will work closely with a skilled team in a structured environment.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

  • Manage project finances, including cost planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Conduct valuations, manage payments, and oversee variations and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and legal obligations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to monitor project progress and control budgets.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.

Requirements for Quantity Surveyor

  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working in the civils sector.
  • Proven track record in managing costs for civil engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of contractual and commercial management in construction.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working on rail sector projects is advantageous.
