We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the friendly therapist team in an SEMH school in Lambeth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs by developing and implementing therapeutic programs that enhance their ability to participate in everyday school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' functional abilities in the school environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
- Educate and support staff and parents on strategies to assist students' development and well-being.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss and review students' progress and needs.
- Stay updated with the latest research and developments in occupational therapy and SEMH education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of sensory integration and therapeutic strategies for SEMH students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of students with SEMH needs.
