The role of Senior Manufacturing Solution Architect provides leadership to link the business mission, strategy, and processes of the GSK Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Domain to its IT strategy with plans, models and project solutions that ensure the current and future needs of the GSC Business organizations and IT will be met in an efficient, secure, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Work with technology leaders, product owners, and solution architects developing roadmaps, frameworks, reference architectures, and artifacts. Align on strategic direction, translate business requirements into technology roadmaps and participate in planning how roadmaps will be realized.
- Support the build out and implementation of a Manufacturing Architecture framework consisting of overall Digital Strategy, Functional Architecture Guidelines and Technical architecture definitions.
- Participate with engineering leads in the design process to ensure detailed designs adhere to and are consistent with the target architecture.
- Support evaluation of next generation technologies by conducting RFI, RFP, and POCs.
- Participate in business partner and vendor product roadmap development as a method of realizing our vision.
- Collaborate with the business, engineers, administrators, operators, and support staff to ensure technology architecture is realistic, secure, supportable and usable.
- Identification of opportunities for new standards within the Manufacturing domain.
- Increase reuse of global and GSC architecture standards and shared services.
- Increase flexibility in IT solutions and services to handle business change at reduced cost.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and new technologies that have the potential to impact employee productivity and GSK operations. Identify how new technologies can be applied within the company to improve operations.

- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS in IT specific field)
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Progressively responsible experience as an engineer and as a domain architect in the Pharma or other highly regulated industry.
- Understanding of regulations that impact the Pharma industry (e.g. GxP, GDPR, Sarbanes Oxley).
- Understanding of core technology platforms and operational technologies in pharma industry environments.
- Understanding of both ISA 95 and ISA 88 industry standards.
- Experience working in Agile / DevOps organisation.
- Experience working with ITIL, ITSM, TOGAF, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working in heterogeneous technology environments (preferably with a high volume of Windows, Mac endpoints and SaaS services).
- Experience working in highly secure environments with active participation in negotiating security risk with business value or operational impact.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with internal customers and establish strong, collaborative partnerships with engineers, non-technical leaders, and executives.
- Experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, driving common approaches, delivering sustainable, re-usable solutions using both agile and waterfall.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate change and challenge the status quo.
- Ability to work in close partnership with other IT functions such as, security, compliance, infrastructure, etc. as well as partner closely with business leaders across global tech organizations to maintain the architecture in line with end user experience strategy.
- Ability to assess a situation and provide guidance at the strategic as well as tactical level.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in written documents.
