Job Requirements/Description

Here at Sheffield Hallam University we have an opportunity for a Lecturer within our Electrical Electronic and Future Technologies Subject Group to further enhance teaching and learning in the area of Power Systems Engineering.

For this post, we are looking for people with expertise in power systems, electrical machines, protection and smart grids dedicated to undergraduate and postgraduate students. We particularly welcome applicants with hands on experience to deliver machines laboratories, DIgSILENT training and power systems experiments embedding industrial and/or applied research applications. The exemplary list of modules is as follows

  • Electrical power and machines
  • Power engineering for apprenticeships
  • Modern electric systems
  • Supply and distribution

You will combine your technical expertise with the enthusiasm and ability to pass on your knowledge and experience by creating and delivering high-quality learning, teaching and assessment. As a university with a focus on applied learning and positive outcomes for our graduates, if you can bring relevant industrial experience to the role, this would be particularly welcome.

You will primarily deliver on the courses within the subject group covering electrical electronic, and power systems engineering however you will also be expected to contribute to other engineering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the department and the delivery of degree apprenticeship courses.
