Workshop Technician

Our client in Aylesbury is seeking a Workshop Technician to work in the Quality and Assurance Department, this is being recruited on a Temp - Perm basis. Contract issued at 12 - 16x weeks.

Working on a 4 day week - Hours will be 07:00 - 17:30 either: Monday to Thursday OR Tuesday to Friday.

The Workshop Technician will be working closely with the Inspection Supervisor.

As Workshop Technician, responsibilities will include:

• Inspection & testing of materials and components using variety of processes/techniques
• Interpret component drawings and test procedures so that part numbers, drawing issues, product requirements and special process requirements can be correctly identified and applied.
• Inspection reports/non-conformance reports in accordance with company quality policy.
• Record all inspection and testing results
• Identify jigs & components using laser marking specified in accordance with job card instructions.
• Use of Vernier Callipers / Micrometres
• Handle materials carefully and comply with safety regulations so that components are not damaged, and accidents do not occur due to mishandling
• Complete work in accordance with required work schedules so that productivity can be maintained at the highest level
• Communication with internal personnel, suppliers, and customers in the resolution of quality issues
• Assist in the successful implementation of ongoing company quality programs such as continuous improvement

Required Skills / Experience:

• Use of Inspection Equipment
• Knowledge of Vernier's & Micrometres
• Understanding of Dimensions / Tolerances
• IT use - Microsoft packages

• Be comfortable working to deadlines
• Be able to lift light - medium weights (components)
• Having an understanding of Technical Drawings/ CAD modelling would be advantageous

Hourly rate for this role is between 11.50 - 12.00 per hour. weekly earning of .00. Salary Between 23,920 - 24,960. per annum. depending on experience.
