Legacy Strategies are currently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our specialist civil engineering client in Grays, Essex.

This role involves estimating and controlling costs for both small and large-scale projects across the UK, ensuring that all structures comply with legal and quality standards. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in every stage of project development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal commercial reports and other necessary documentation.
- Develop valuations/applications for payment with supporting documents as per contract requirements.
- Create cost reports for clients, ensuring all supporting documentation is contractually compliant.
- Manage and prepare subcontract and material procurement schedules.
- Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts, from requisition preparation to final account agreements, including monitoring and authorising subcontract payments.
- Oversee contract administration, including change management, and maintain associated registers.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change.
- Utilise the costing system efficiently.
- Generate internal commercial reports and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant industry qualification.
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present, negotiate, and persuade effectively.
- Experience in the construction/engineering industry with a solid commercial background.
- General civil engineering experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
