Job Requirements/Description

We are looking for an apprentice metal fabricator to start in the coming months. The successful applicant will need to attend Leeds City College starting in January. This is a great opportunity to learn all kinds of metal fabrication from an extremely skilled and experienced team working on complex bespoke exhibits on some very exciting projects.

Overview

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

This is a full-time job with a two year contract. Permanent full-time employment will then be offered depending on performance and the completion of college course.

Our apprentices work mainly in our workshop with our extremely skilled and talented team.

Our apprentice would be learning to

  • Read construction drawings
  • Accurately measure out on different materials
  • Accurately setting out build item
  • Precise Cutting of different materials using workshop equipment.
  • Welding
  • High quality finishing of raw steel build items.

Our apprentice will be expected to attend college on a day release basis with block weeks as per the college schedule. They will gain experience in

They will also be trained on a wide range of workshop equipment such as

  • Cold saws
  • Welders
  • Plasma cutters
  • Rollers.

Using a wide variety of materials such as mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, corten steel, brass and any other material that the designer introduces on each project.

We work closely with the college and will ensure that all work based experience outcomes are achieved and documented to help our apprentices meet their college targets.

We are a creative and highly skilled bespoke manufacturer that can build anything imagined for exhibitions, museums, retail, commercial spaces and visitor experiences. Our skilled workforce consists of joiners, metal workers, painters, and prop makers. We also have a team of project managers and CAD technicians to manage and develop your projects from research and development of ideas to acting as a full-blown main contractor and managing a package of sub-contractors.

Training to be Delivered

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
