Role Purpose:

To play a key role in achieving the college’s recruitment targets, by arranging and delivering high-quality interview experiences for applicants, including accurate information, advice and guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To conduct remote interviews for Access Creative College, following standard interview procedures.
  • To have an in-depth knowledge of a given subject area (Music Performance and Music Technology), that can be applied to an applicant’s technical competencies and suitability for their chosen pathway.
  • To liaise closely with Learning Support colleagues to ensure effective follow up of applicants that disclose support needs at the interview.
  • To liaise closely with admin and curriculum colleagues in centres and provide updates on interview outcomes, likely cohort sizes etc.
  • To liaise closely with Engagement colleagues regarding bookings for, and attendance at, post-interview events.
  • Arrange interview sessions with applicants as and when required.
  • To undertake regular product knowledge training to ensure that understanding of curriculum and centres is current and accurate. 
  • To review interview recordings for training and monitoring purposes.

Person Specification 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive skills and knowledge of Music Performance and Music Technology and ability to relate them to further education requirements
  • Demonstrates a consistent and strong bias to action and takes accountability for the delivery of results.
  • Demonstrates relationship management skills including the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with key stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to analyse and understand data and information.
  • Able to use judgement to make insightful decisions.
  • Adapts to change and challenges with confidence & impact
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely to a wide variety of audiences.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Previous relevant experience in FE or recruitment sectors is desirable.
  • Extensive use of remote communications platform(s) such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc and excellent IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office or Google Suite


Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent in one of our curriculum specialisms would be desirable.
  • Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in English and Maths

Responsibilities Common to all Staff:
