Job Title: Skilled Vehicle Technician

Hourly Rate: 20.29 to 26.06
Are you a skilled Vehicle Technician with a passion for engineering? Our client, a leading organisation in the engineering industry, is seeking a talented individual to join their team. As a Skilled Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment to ensure their optimum performance and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting inspections, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
- Carrying out MOT tests and achieving high pass rates
- Ordering and collecting parts in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop environment
- Maintaining accurate records and completing administrative tasks
- Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and colleagues to ensure smooth operations
- Driving vehicles as required for collection, delivery, and testing
- Mentoring and providing guidance to colleagues and trainees
- Participating in professional development programmes and staying updated with industry best practises
Required Skills and Experience:
- Level 3 City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications in Vehicle Technician
- Full and clean driving licence for cars and motorcycles
- PCV DD restricted and/or HGV Class 2 driving licence is desirable
- MOT vehicle examiner certificate for Class 4 (Class 5) and Class 7 vehicles
- Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role, working on a variety of vehicles and equipment
- Proficiency in welding, paint spraying, and fabrication
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, body panels, and horticultural/agricultural equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
